Dorset: GUIDED WALK - WEYMOUTH RELIEF ROAD

This is a return visit to the new herb-rich downland on the slopes alongside the Relief Road. Informal monitoring of butterflies started in 2012 and a formal transect was set up in 2018. Last year 25 species were seen and the overall species count is now 30.  We will hoping to see second brood Adonis Blue and Brown Argus and maybe a Chalkhill Blue which appeared in 2019 for the first time.

Meet at 1.00 pm at the truncated end of the Broadmayne road where it meets the relief road, map reference SY 674 859. N.B. Access is only possible from the eastern side of the relief road.
