Our Highland Branch area includes Inverness-shire and Morayshire, and all of the counties north of those. It is home to some of our most beautiful butterflies and moths, from the spectacular Kentish Glory moth to the Small Blue butterfly.

We are running a special event to introduce new (and current!) volunteers to the range of volunteer opportunities in the branch area. At this event you'll get an introduction to the branch area and our priority species for conservation and monitoring. You'll also find out how you can get involved in different aspects of our work, including species monitoring, practical conservation work, event delivery and branch roles.

We'll spend the morning indoors at the venue, before going to the RSPB reserve at Insh Marshes to hear about the work they are doing there to help butterflies and moths, including the reintriduction of the Dark Bordered Beauty Moth. Most importantly, it will be a chance to meet other like-minded people and get to know some of our current volunteers who can help you get involved. Even if you are already volunteering with us, you're still very welcome to attend and contribute!

Location: Talla Nan Ross, King Street, Kingussie
Date and Time: Saturday 17th September, 10am - 3pm.
