Farming/Field/Poppy

Butterfly Conservation is a partner in the Farm Wildlife project, which provides a single source of best-practice management advice for wildlife on farmland across the UK. Farm Wildlife is a partnership of conservation organisations – Amphibian and Reptile Conservation, Bat Conservation Trust, Buglife, Bumblebee Conservation Trust, Butterfly Conservation, Freshwater Habitats Trust, Nature Friendly Farming Network, Plantlife, RSPB and The Wildlife Trusts.

The website provides advice across six key elements of the farmed landscape:

  • Existing habitats
  • Field boundaries
  • Wet features
  • Flowerrich habitats
  • Seedrich habitats
  • Farmed area

There is also a library of practical examples and case studies to provide real life examples of how farmers have adapted their management for a range of species and habitats.
